How To Use Framing To Add Interest
Let’s be honest we all want to create interesting photographs, the more interesting the better.
In the photo below I have created that extra interest by using the window to frame the subjects. In this case, the window and wall appear to be old which links in nicely with the rural feel of this shot. This would have been a much different (less interesting?) shot had it been taken inside the house.

Frames come in all shapes and sizes, so let’s be clear I’m not just talking about windows and doors here. Architectural elements like bannisters, arches or tunnels. Environmental elements like bushes, branches or pathways. But don’t stop there, you can create a frame using almost anything musical instruments, sports equipment even other people. The only limit is your imagination.
If the frame can be something that adds to the story of the image, then so much the better. So get your thinking caps on.
