Wow April has gone already and hopefully the rather depressing weather we’ve been having too. On the plus side the rain a winds do mean I’ve been hidden away and very very nearly finished my new website. Stay tuned for more on that over the next week.

It shows a rather impressive scene indicating how to support your house if you happen to live on the edge of cliff and have nothing more than a few lengths of bamboo. The image was shot in January in Nagaland, India.

As I´m updating my website, yes that´s still going on, I´ve rediscovered some images that I had taken years ago and had forgotten all about, well this is one of them taken way back in 2007.

It´s that time of the month again and how the months are flying by.

This months wallpaper is another shot from my time in the tribal regions of Northern India and shows what I believe to be a date palm leaf. The super strong lines and colours in this image simply meant I couldn´t walk passed with out shooting a couple of frames.

I´ve had a look at the my stats for this site and based on what Google Analytics has told me I´ve re-sized my wallpapers to better match those your screens, if I have missed out your size just drop me a comment and I´ll see what I can do for you.

One month down 11 to go.

As this post goes live I am (or at least should be) sitting on a train traveling to Mumbai and later down to a beach for a well earned week long holiday before I fly back to the UK. I´ve spent so much time on trains in the last couple of months and I´m still enjoying them, the thing about Indian trains is you never know whats going to happen next, also there´s always vast quantities of chai (tea) on board so it´s a case of sit back watch and enjoy.

This months wallpaper is another shot from my time in the tribal regions of Northern India and shows a show a familiar scene of a buffalo skull and horns on the front of a home, why these skulls are displayed in such a way I am as yet unable to find out, but it certainly makes for some great photography.

Happy new year.

After months of planning 2012 is finally here and with that comes the hugely anticipated (by me at least) 366 project (yes, it´s a leap year) were I´ll be posting a new blog post every day of 2012 (yep every day). Sounds like a lot of work huh? well it is but I think it´ll be good for both of us so here goes with day of 366 (sorry for all the brackets – I´ll stop now (I promise)).
If all is going to plan I should currently be on a sleep train heading to the states of North East of India, it´s going to take me several days to arrive so my blog is entirely in the hands of the automatic posting function on wordpress, it should work out fine.

Being the first of the month I have here January´s desktop wallpaper for you to download. The image was shot way back in 2011, remember those crazy days? seems like yesterday. Anyway I digress, The image was shot in Gokarna and shows the underside of a banana leaf lit from behind by the sun, when I spotted this leaf I was instantly attracted to the bright vibrance of the greens and the shadows created by different textures, I hope you like it too.

Wow a whole month has past and no updates on the blog, what can I say…. Well I´ve decided to put that right, in the most challenging of ways. More news on that soon.

Until then here is Decembers wallpaper shot just the other afternoon in some lovely soft light that we get almost every day here in Karnataka, South India. I still have no definite plans to return to Europe but after 8 months on the road we are starting to get a little tired and missing a few home comforts.

This shot was taken in Darjeeling, it’s a really nice peaceful place with absolutely stunning views of the Himalayas.

It´s coming a little early this month as I´m not to sure what kind of internet access I´ll be finding as I head into the wilderness, yesterday I landed in Cacutta and have been overwelmed by the sights, sounds and smells that great you when first arriving in this country. It´s my 4th time in India and I´m still not prepared for what this place throws at you in terms of visual excitment.

The wallpaper is not from India but from West Timor from a couple of months ago, again I´ve included Ipad and Ipod sized images as they seemed popular last month.
