The Barcelona Photo Explorer workshop is aimed at providing photographers of all levels the opportunity to learn more about the art of photography. We wont be sitting in a boring class room, we wont be studying some old textbook, we´ll be out on the street, photographing some of the wonders that Barcelona has to offer from vibrant markets and parks to modern art galleries and churches.
Barcelona is a true gem of a location for photographers with so much to capture the imagination from the ancient Gothic quarter to the surreal architectural spectacles of Antoni Gaudí, this cosmopolitan and diverse city has so much to offer for everyone.
With a choice of carefully selected routes that will take you around one of the worlds greatest cities, picking out photogenic locations that are perfect for practising a variety of photographic techniques, you are almost guaranteed some great shots for your camera.
The workshops are designed for 1 or 2 people to allow as much 1 to 1 time as possible. During each tour we´ll discuss composition, lighting, exposure, image processing and developing a photographers eye.
Workshops can be tailored to the individuals’ needs, just let us know, what you´d like to cover and we´ll do our best.
A typical tour could look something like this:
Half day photography workshop (4 hours, 180€ for up to 2 people extra person charged at 50€)
With an early morning start and a leisurely stroll along the beach as the sunrises and reflects off the seafront architecture we´ll discuss exposure, composition and shooting with available light. We´ll then head into the old narrow streets that give Barcelona its charm before emerging at the port where multimillion dollar boats dock and street musicians perform to the crowds, allowing for a wide range of techniques to be practised in various situations. The tour concludes with a review of the mornings images in a local tapas bar. Afternoon tours are also available.
Full day photography workshop (8 hours, 320€ for up to 2 people extra person charged at 80€)
Once again an early start, but this tour lasts a full 8 hours allowing time to reach some of the more distant attractions like the d´Horta labyrinth or the ever so popular park Guell. A complete range of subjects will be covered and the tour finishes with a critique of the days images and an introduction to digital processing techniques in a local tapas bar.
Who are the workshops aimed at ?
Anyone who wants to learn more about photography, particularly those who currently own an SLR camera and want to learn how use more manual features or how to more comfortably use photography as a tool for sharing ideas.
Whats included ?
Personalized photography instruction throughout the period of the workshop, all entrance fees (on standard tours), all transport costs (where applicable), a drink in a tapas bar at the end of the tour

Send an email to Tom from this form stating the exact date you´d like to book and any other reliant information, you´ll receive confirmation and a welcome pack within a few days. 50% of the workshop fee is to be paid to finalise the booking with the remaining 50% to be paid a the start of the tour.
