Dayakan Dancers
The Dayaks are said to have an ancestry that dates back some 3000 years to the jungles of Borneo. This folk dance is accompanied by traditional music provided by a small band that has strong links to the Islamic culture. It is performed at many celebrations throughout Java and Kalimantan. The costumes are representative of traditional Dayakan dress although the headgear has been updated and is now similar to that of a native American.
