This scene takes me right back to the tranquil rice fields of Vietnam. Early morning light, crisp air, and the sound of buffalo hooves as they move through the lush green paddies. I remember standing there, fascinated by how the farmer guided these massive animals with ease. For this shot, I crouched low to get eye-level with the buffalo, I got close to emphasize the sheer size of the animal and its curved horns. I wanted to capture both the farmer in the background and the buffalo’s natural motion as it grazed. Framing this way shows the harmony between man, beast, and land, with the endless rice fields stretching out into the distance. The colors added a natural vibrance, making the textures pop without too much need for post-processing. What has been your most memorable experience photographing animals? The intensity of Catalonia's "Correfoc" festival i

The intensity of Catalonia's "Correfoc" festival is something you can feel in your bones. Spain is an incredible place for festivals! Standing this close to the action, you’re surrounded by a whirl of fire, sparks, and drumming. This shot was taken during the height of the celebration, where locals dressed as devils wield fireworks and charge through the streets, igniting a storm of pyrotechnics. The key to capturing this shot was getting right into the mix, under the sparks! I made sure to keep a low angle to emphasize the height and presence of the devil figure, giving the shot an almost mythical feel, with the fireworks creating a dramatic backdrop. The challenge here is to balance exposure - those bursts of light can easily blow out your image if you aren’t careful. I lowered my EV and used a relatively fast shutter speed to freeze the flying embers while keeping enough detail in the shadows of the figure’s cloak. The gloves, horns, and that solid grip on the staff all tell the story of the fierce pride the locals take in their traditions. What's your favourite festival that you have shot?
