Travel Photographer of the Year – Results are in
The Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 winners have been announced, and the array of talent showcased is nothing short of inspiring. Photographers from around the world have captured moments that go beyond just taking photos, telling stories of our world’s diverse cultures and landscapes.
Among these remarkable talents, I’m honored to share that my Lelo Burti portfolio received commendation in the Travel in Monochrome category. This series explores a unique Easter tradition in Shukhuti, Georgia, where two towns engage in a spirited game similar to rugby, but with its own distinct madness. This recognition is a great reminder that while knowing the technical side of photography is important, what really makes an image powerful is its authenticity and emotion. Itās about truly connecting with your subject, understanding the story behind it, and capturing something that speaks to people.
To all the photographers and storytellers out there – follow what moves you. Immerse yourself in what interests you, and trust your instincts. The best photos arenāt always about perfect composition; theyāre about capturing the world as you feel it.
A huge congratulations to Piper Mackay, the overall winner, and all the other winners. Your work is inspiring and showcases just how incredible and diverse our world really is.
