Focal is Live – A New Home for Photographers

For months now, I’ve been quietly working on something that I’ve wanted to create for years – a place where photographers of all levels can connect, learn, and grow together.

Today, I’m excited to finally share it with you: Focal – my new online photography community.

Before I go to far, I should say, it’s FREE to join.

Focal isn’t just another forum or social media group. It’s designed to give photographers a clear path to becoming better at their craft – whether you’ve just picked up your first camera or you’ve been shooting for decades.

I joined Focal yesterday and am impressed by what I’ve seen so far. – Lori

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • Weekly prompts & assignments – Push yourself creatively with fresh ideas and themes to shoot every week.

  • AI-powered photo critiques – Get honest, detailed, and constructive feedback on your work, using the same professional approach I’ve used in my own career, now supercharged by AI.

  • Webinars & resources – Learn from experts and dive deep into topics that will actually move the needle in your photography.

  • A friendly, engaged community – No algorithms, no distractions, just photographers who actually want to help each other improve.

I’ve been a photographer for over 20 years, and I know how hard it can be to get meaningful feedback or to keep growing when you’re shooting alone. Focal is my answer to that – a space where we can all share, learn, and get better together.

If you’ve followed my work for a while, you’ll know that I believe photography isn’t just about mastering your camera – it’s about learning to see differently. My hope is that Focal will become a place where we can all refine that skill, together.

Focal is free to join, with extra features available if you want to go deeper. You can check it out and sign up here: www.focal.community
